Sports

Richmond Primary School is a country school which offers a variety of sports eg cricket, hockey, netball, tennis, rugby, athletics, soccer, swimming and cross country. The children are encouraged to participate and are taught in small groups with qualified coaches. This is beneficial to all the children as they are able to hone their skills which gives them the advantage when playing matches and holds them in good stead for high school.

We pride ourselves in the success of our children. Every year we have boys and girls who represent both Midlands and KwaZulu Natal sport teams. We hold our own very favourably when competing against other schools winning most of our matches!

The personal involvement by coaches in the training of the children teaches them the necessary skills and also how to win and lose gracefully, ensuring a healthy sporting ethic. Both boys and girls may play the sport of their choice and often play more than one sport during the term.

We embrace the idea of healthy living and a healthy life style, so encourage the children to be part of our Richmond Primary sporting programme.
